 Training Programme  
Our Mainland Trainee Programme is designed to groom PRC nationals who are univ
ersity graduates to become leading bankers of tomorrow to support the Bank''s 
diversified business development on the Mainland.

Three streams of specialisation are incorporated in the programme, namely:
 Corporate and Commercial Banking 
 Personal Financial Services 
 Branch Operations 

Corporate and Commercial Banking offer a range of business banking services to
 meet our corporate clients’ day-to-day financial needs. Services include:  t
rade financing 
 deposit and remittance services 
 credit investigation and consultancy services 
 short, medium and long-term loans 
 project financing 
 working capital financing 
 construction, syndicated and entrusted loans 
 mortgage financing 

Personal Financial Services provides a wide range of personal wealth managemen
t and financial services to meet individual customer needs. Services include: 
 investment services 
 mortgage loan services 
 insurance 
 e-banking 
 retail sales services 

Branch Operations runs diversified operations in our Mainland branches and sub
-branches. Services include:  renminbi and foreign currency savings account an
d deposit services 
 time deposit services 
 foreign currency exchange services 
 corporate and retail credit administration 
 trade operations 


The programme, involving training in Hong Kong as well as on the Mainland, pro
vides trainees with valuable opportunities to gain exposure to an internationa
l banking and financial system. The programme is divided into two stages:

Stage One 
12 Months  
 In-house training courses on technical banking knowledge, product knowledge a
nd management skills 
 On-the-job training in various related departments 
 Assignment of work-based projects 

Stage Two
Two to Three Years 
 Placement / Job attachment to consolidate knowledge acquired in the first yea
r  
 Ongoing training and development with opportunities for overseas training 

 Career Path 
The programme provides a structured career path leading to a challenging and r
ewarding position. Upon successful completion of the programme, trainee will t
ake up an executive position in our Bank either on the Mainland or Hong Kong.




 Target Candidates 
To become one of our valued Mainland Trainees, you should possess:
 An honours bachelor''s degree or master''s degree in Business Administration,
 Economics, Accounting or Finance 
 Fresh graduates or recent graduates with 1-2 years'' work experience 
 Strong self-motivation and commercial orientation 
 Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills 
 High proficiency in both English and Chinese
