Applications Engineer, GPD
for Consumer Applications
3 Vacancies
Senior Applications Engineer is a Product Specialist and part of a team based in Asia dedicated to FPGA product family, providing a deep level of technical expertise on FPGA products and their applications to local customers, local FAEs as well to the local sales force during the design-win process.
Key Responsibilities
l Extensive local FPGA-specific technical support (pre and post-sales) on a variety of technical matters such as display interface/memory interface/device operations/errata/signal integrity;
l Technical documentation improvements to address regional concerns;
l Feedback on local technical issues limiting design wins to US-based product group; Championing regional product requirements;
l Putting together product specifications optimized for Asian market requirements; Developing/partnering in the development of reference designs featuring the use of FPGA applications;
l Training other Xilinx organizations or partners as needed on the products or solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering or equivalent
- 8 years’ and above technical experience in FPGA
- Experience in consumer products industry
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in Mandarin and English
System Knowledge
l Thorough understanding of system development using FPGAs
l Familiar with consumer and/or automotive application system requirements in one or more of the following areas: flat panel display, set top box, VoIP, media players, GPS, PDA, electronic toys, POS, security surveillance, home entertainment, cell phone, game console, car electronics etc.
l Ability to develop reference designs in one or more of the above areas
l Familiar with consumer storage media: CF, SD/MMC, HDD, Flash/SDRAM
l Familiar with USB, Bluetooth, WiFi
Software Knowledge
l FPGA software
l Embedded system software and drivers preferred
Hardware Knowledge
l FPGA programming and debugging
l PCB design, layout and verification
l System debugging
l System power management and design
l Use of scopes, logic analyzers and other test equipment
l PCB signal integrity, FCC requirement
