PRC Banker Development Programme
The key objective of the China Banker Development Programme (BDP) is to deve
lop future
banking specialists and leaders through practical experience and management
skills training.
The 18-month programme includes classroom and on-the-job training and attach
ments to
various core functional businesses in mainland China as well as other cities
and territories.
The BDP family includes the following 5 specific programmes:
- Personal Financial Services
- Corporate & Institutional Banking
- Commercial Banking
- Transactional Banking
- Operations
To successfully build a solid banking career with HSBC, we encourage all of
our trainees to develop their managerial and technical skills as well as pro
actively contribute to the business through actual job assignments. High-per
forming trainees will be nominated to attend a demanding but highly rewardin
g classroom-training programme in the HSBC Group Training Centre in the UK.

Assessment Selection Process
Our banker development programme provides future management opportunities fo
r you. And to determine if you have the management potential to make the mos
t of opportunities that will arise, we will use a multiple assessment approa
ch to ensure objectivity and to support programme recommendations.
You will partake in various stages of the assessment in the selection proces
s, including aptitude test, a capability-based interview, occupational perso
nality questionnaire and graduate assessment center.
Through this process, we are aiming to make a comprehensive assessment of yo
ur potential and suitability for a place in one of our local graduate progra
mmes
