GENERAL SUMMARY:
· The position is responsible for sustaining engineering activities in suppor
t of desktop & notebook products in production.
· This includes feature add implementations, quality improvements, continuity
of supply resolution, and cost reduction activities.
· This will entail a fair amount of technical work, but will also require a s
ignificant amount of interfacing with the extended engineering organization.
· Work with suppliers to obtain necessary information to ensure product manuf
acture ability and delivery quality.
· Drive the process and ensure all the qualification and validation tests tho
rough.
· Ensure all electrical issues are driven to closure through root cause and p
erform real-time feedback. Ensure that common issues for other programs are co
mmunicated as necessary.
· Work as part of a cross-functional team to take and support products from m
ass production till End Of Product Life.
· Developing and qualifying electronic designs for desktop & Notebook systems
. Duties include activities to take a design from concept to production. The E
E engineer is responsible for working cross-functionally to ensure the design
meets the requirements for: feature set, functionality, cost, reliability, reg
ulatory compliance, and industry standards compliance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Understanding of PC product test methods and theories.
· Understanding of hardware/software/driver interactions.
· Understand PC architecture. Ability to identify potential product weaknesse
s and be able to provide design guidance for resolution.
· Detail-oriented with attention to product quality while working under date-

EDUCATION:
Minimum in Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, C

BIOS Engineer (Shanghai)
LOCATION: Shanghai
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing vendors that will design and/or develop BIOS software
and tools for desktop platforms.
Responsibilities include: Vendor management, adherence to schedules, unit test
of finished BIOS product and tools, analyzing and reproducing system-level is
sues, and driving to completion of fix and release.
The job coverage includes the SW development and support of applications, diag
nostics, firmware, drivers, BIOS, utilities, scripts, and factory support.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Experience and knowledge of the following technologies: PC, PCI, USB, ACPI,
Intel chipsets, Intel CPU/'/'s, PC programming, Microsoft OS/'/'s, Linux, DOS, ba
sic Ethernet networking, debugging skills. These may include, but are not limi
ted to: programming languages (808x Assembler, C); operating systems (Windows
2000, XP, MS-DOS, Linux); option ROM firmware; BIOS; device drivers; system, n
etwork, operating system, and application administration; embedded software/fi
rmware; tools and utilities.
· Good analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.
· Able to clearly articulate and document debugging strategy and status on sp
ecific problems.
· Experience with 2-3 hardware platforms and an understanding of tradeoffs be
tween hardware and software interactions.

Configuration Management Analyst (Shanghai)

GENERAL SUMMARY
The responsibilities for this position include the quality configuration contr
ol of initial release, managing engineering changes and deviations in support
of new products, as well as managing current products and peripheral component
s through product release and the associated design change activities, post re
lease. This person will work directly with functional areas to help guide and
direct project management to define and design, build and ship systems configu
ration requirements. In addition, he will establish and implement configuratio

The responsibilities for this position include sustaining mechanical products
for notebook. All mechanically related design and sustaining activities includ
ing cross-functional or OEM interaction necessary to deliver products into pro
duction fall into this area. The ability to use state-of-the-art CAD e.g. Pro-
E and analysis tools to create and verify ODM mechanical designs (primarily co
nsisting of sheet metal and plastic component assemblies) for volume mass prod
uction. Additional responsibilities include ensuring product features achieve
cost, schedule, budget, reliability, thermal, acoustic, reliability, and regul
atory/safety goals.

Test Engineering Analyst (Shanghai)

GENERAL SUMMARY:
• Setup and calibrate test equipment and maintain in working condition.
• Manage the scheduling and prioritizing of daily tasks.
• Track prototypes throughout the development test cycle.
• Assist development engineers in diagnosing prototype design flaws and
make recommendations for resolution.
