JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Hard Disk Read/Write Engineers (KEY WORDS: Digital Signal Processing, hardw
are engineer, tools development)
Major Responsibilities:
• Analyze in-situ hard disk drives’ read and write performances.
• Develop algorithms to diagnose R/W channel issues.
• Work with firmware engineers to translate algorithms into tools.
• Develop tools to optimize/enhance R/W channel parameters.
• Request component level tests with component FA engineers.
• Communicate results to management and customers.
• Interface with channel chip and preamp engineers and suppliers.
• Traveling and working closely with US customers.
Position Requirements:
• MS or Ph.D degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Communication
s with good understanding of statistics and signal processing; must be familia
r with analog and digital frequency domain transforms and signaling methods su
ch as PR4.
• Must be fluent with using Excel, Matlab, and database tools.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
• CET6 or higher and ability to read write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge in Magnetic Recording Physics, EM Wave Theory, and Transmiss
ion Line Theory is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in programming with C and C++ is a plus.
• Experience with LeCroy, Guzik, Spectrum Analyzer, QST, and material la
b tools, is also a plus.
2. Servo Engineers (KEY WORDS: control engineer，firmware engineer)
Major Responsibilities:
• Design and implementation of control algorithm.
• Analysis and optimize servo/mechanical system of HDD.
• Design control system related program in C/C++.
• Do debug and FA of servo system in HDD.
• Traveling and working closely with US customers.
Position Requirements:
• Master degree or above in Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering
or Mechanical Engineering.
• In depth knowledge of control theory.
• Familiar with assembly, C, C++ language.
• Familiar with MATLAB.
• Knowledge of source code control systems and software debug techniques
.
• CET6 or higher and ability to read write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of hard disk drive, ATA or SCSI interface and servo systems
is a plus.
3. Firmware Engineers ( KEY WORDS: software engineer, hardware engineer, firmw
are engineer )
Major Responsibilities:
• Design and implementation of hard disk drive firmware.
• Testing and debugging of existing drive firmware.
• Performing drive failure analysis and developing failure analysis tool
s.
• Maintaining documentation of firmware.
• Traveling and working closely with US customers.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical E
ngineering or related.
• In depth knowledge of C or C++ programming languages, XML is a plus.
• Assembly language experience is a plus.
• In depth experience with Single Chip Microcontroller (such as ARM, DSP
).
• Knowledge of source code control systems, emulator and logic analyzers
.
• >1 year of firmware/embedded real time software programming experience
.
• CET6 or higher and ability to read write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of hard disk drive, micro-SD, MMC, CF, ATA, SCSI interface i
s a plus.
• Hands-on experience with computer system hardware is also a plus.
4. Software Tools Engineers ( KEY WORDS: software engineer )
Major Responsibilities:
• Design and implementation of interface based hard disk drive test and
measurement software.
• Design and implementation of software to perform data post processing
and analyzing.
• Testing and debugging of existing drive test and measurement software.
• Maintaining documentation of software.
• Traveling and working closely with US customers.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical E
ngineering or Control Systems.
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Visual C++ and graphic user interface
programming.
• Familiarity with Windows 98, 2000, XP and Linux application programmin
g.
• Experience with PC applications that control external hardware.
• Knowledge of source code control systems and software debug techniques
.
• CET6 or higher and ability to read write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of hard disk drive, ATA or SCSI interface and servo systems
is a plus.
