We are going to open a research and development center in Hangzhou, China in e
arly 2007, as part of our growing technology division. Our engineering team ha
s the ability to affect the way hundreds of companies conduct their business a
nd improve the efficiency of millions of end users that use our software to pe
rform business critical functions for their companies. We are looking for moti
vated software engineers who want to be a part of a high-paced seasoned team o
f professionals that can help MicroStrategy maintain its industry leadership a
nd work on new innovations to our Business Intelligence product suite that wil
l extend that leadership. We value strong analytical skills and strong skills 
in fundamental Computer Science. 

Successful candidates will travel to our headquarters, located in a suburb of 
Washington DC, for about two months of training. They will then come back to C
hina, where they will work alongside world-class software professionals that a
re sent on assignment from our corporate headquarters. These professionals on 
average have been with MicroStrategy for 7-8 years and are experts in the fiel
ds of Computer Science and Business Intelligence. Our employees in China will 
learn from these experienced professionals while also applying their skills to
 immediate use in advancing MicroStrategy’s technology. MicroStrategy, Inc. w
ill invest human resources and infrastructure to make sure that our China tech
nology center will have the same level of world class standards in software de
velopment as our corporate technology team.

Software Engineer (China)
Location: Hangzhou, China
新雇员将在美国总部短期培训和工作后回杭州继续工作。
Role and Responsibility:
•	Design, code, debug, and test software components and product features
 on Windows and various Unix/Linux platforms independently in a high-availabil
ity, high performance environment.
•	Implementation of MicroStrategy product features through entire lifecy
cle of feature development.  This includes contribution on feature design spec
s, development time estimation, code implementation of functionality, testing,
 analyzing and optimizing the implementation.
•	Work closely with other team members, including engineers, managers an
d architects from MicroStrategy headquarters.
•	Individual must have ability and desire to assimilate and apply knowle
dge as well as to spread acquired knowledge and experience to other team membe
rs.

Qualifications:
•	Education: Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Computer Science. GPA 
3.2+. 
•	Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating system and 
other Computer Science fundamentals.
•	Fluent in object oriented programming languages, such as C++, Java. St
rong object-oriented design and development skills.
•	Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills. 
•	Familiarity with RDBMS is highly desirable.
•	Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
•	Positive attitude to work as part of a team.


Software Engineer in Test (China)
Location: Hangzhou, China
新雇员将在美国总部短期培训和工作后回杭州继续工作。
Role and Responsibility:
•	Work together with other team members (including engineers at MicroStr
ategy headquarters) to contribute to product feature design, responsible for t
esting plans and strategy.
•	Apply software design and programming skills to create automated test 
tools, implement API level automated tests. 
•	Creatively use programming approaches to develop random, combinational
, feature and stress test suites to deliver robust, scalable and high performa
nce products
•	Execute and analyze automated test results to improve test code covera
ge. Ability to debug at source code level.
•	Reproduce, debug and isolate issues found at customer sites as well as
 internally, and verify fixes. 
•	Individual must have ability and desire to assimilate and apply knowle
dge as well as to spread acquired knowledge and experience to other team membe
rs.

Qualifications:
•	Education: Bachelors, Masters degree in Computer Science. GPA 3.5+. 

•	Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals.
•	Good programming skills in C/C++, Java. 
•	Strong analytical, design, debugging, testing and problem solving skil
ls. 
•	Familiarity with RDBMS is a plus.
•	Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
•	Positive attitude to work as part of a team.
