Jotun's International Trainee Programme is one important tool in meeting this challenge.

Establishing and doing business in an increasing number of countries has been a characteristic of Jotun for more than 40 years. The trainees will be taken through a challenging and exciting journey in different parts of our organisation and experience working with colleagues and customers from a diversity of cultures.

The trainees will be assigned to various divisions, in several countries, and get a broad picture of the whole business as well as specific competence in selected trades. Jotun offers challenging work assignments complemented by a learning component. The combination of pratical work experience, formal training and support from our Trainee Coordinator provides the trainees with a unique opportunity to develop and assume challenging responsibilities withing the Jotun company.

Jotun's operations in China are growing rapidly. We are established with two production facilities, respectively in Guangzhou and Zhangjiagang, and with head office in Shanghai. A major part of Jotun's global Marine and Protective business is linked to the Chinese operation.

International Trainee - Marketing - China

Job description
Conduct gap analysis about the line of business, the market and actors to ensure that Jotun identify new market opportunities, develop feasible strategy and deliver suitable products to selected markets.
Assist the Protective Marketing manager in developing innovation plans for new products and markets.
Analyse and monitor the shifts of customer needs, competitors’ strategy and critical activities, assist in fine-tuning business strategy and defining product mix to ensure support and contribution to the business growth and the development of new products.
Responsibilities and tasks during the programme will be designed in accordance with company needs and the job holder's competence and interests.

International Trainee-Purchasing - China

Job description
Review all core purchasing procedure in the different sites and align them as much as possible as to derive a standard purchasing “live” manual, with the objective of removing “MUDA” and to increase work efficiency and ethics.
Support the factory audit tasks to be coordinated by Global Purchasing, induced by the need to increase ethics and HSE standards among both existing and new vendors.
Play an active role in the sourcing of alternative raw materials as to mainly minimise dependency on sole supply as well as to have better negotiation power with current sources.
Support the internal purchasing training program.
Responsibilities and tasks during the programme will be designed in accordance with company needs and the job holder's competence and interests.

International Trainee - Supply Chain

Job description
Daily production planning including managing the raw material storage.
Work on the QC and Process role in the daily work.
Handle FG warehouse management and the distribution system.
Coordinate with HSE to protect the employees and the environment, and the QA related to ISO and OSHAS certifications.
Act as the maintenance role to avoid down time in production, as well as support other important activities at the site.
