Job Title: Analyst, Risk Management

Basic Accountability Statement

Responsible for analyzing credit risk in the HSBC Mortgage whole loan, real estate portfolio. Works with business unit to identify, measure, monitor and control credit risk in strategic processes such as product development, credit policy, underwriting, portfolio management, collections and collateral liquidation. Monitors and reports on credit quality and changes in the external environment that can impact portfolio quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Designs and implements management information systems and reports to monitor credit risk trends.

2. Develops and maintains repositories of historic data for ad hoc analysis.

3. Provides MIS reporting on mortgage origination, performance trend, service indicator, and vintage analysis.

4. Supports risk and reward management through development of risk estimates for new and existing products. Validates estimates in a timely manner.

5. Supports portfolio due diligence activities through an independent assessment of credit policies

6. Identifies portfolio concentrations and stress testing under multiple macro economic scenarios.

7. Performs other projects or special assignments as required.

Qualifications

Advanced degrees in computer sciences, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, operations research, related field or equivalent experience; Have financial services experience. Good knowledge of SAS and Microsoft office. Good understanding of mortgage pricing, prepayment, and loan default behavior concepts. Good analytical skills and knowledge of RMBS and SAS.
