Lehman’s Technology division is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing support of our applications and infrastructure across the Firm.

In conjunction with business strategies, technology is a vital component in today’s financial services industry. The Information Technology Division constantly strives to deliver information more efficiently playing a key role in providing the Firm and its clients with a competitive, global edge in the financial markets. The IT Division is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the applications and infrastructure that support the Firm worldwide.

The Global IT Analyst Training program gives the analysts an pportunity to meet the NY analysts, as well as meet the NY staff working as their counterparts in the group they joined. The analysts will be given capital markets training as well as technical training based on the individual’s skill level and work requirement. The program will include a group project session where the analysts will experience working on a real-life project and will present their experience in front of Senior Management at the close of the program. The curriculum includes the following components:

Introduction to Working at Lehman Brothers
Capital Markets and Corporate Finance Seminars
Technical Skills Training
Senior Technology Management Presentations
Professional Development Classes
Teambuilding and Social Activities
Final Project and Presentation

All Asia IT Analysts are placed and begin working in their group immediately after completion of the IT Analyst Training Program.

Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering
Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java, C++/C#, VB, SQL
Knowledge of object oriented design or database development (Application Development)
Experience with Windows NT/2000 or Unix environments (Infrastructure Engineering)
Experience in networks or database management (Infrastructure Engineering)
Exceptional problem solving, communication, teamwork, initiative and leadership skills
Any financial experience or knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of relational database management systems a plus

Additional desirable skills
Ability to work under pressure
Strong communication skills
Ability to learn new skills quickly
A team player

Languages
Business level English
Business level Japanese, a plus
