Fiat Powertrain Technologies is the Sector of the Fiat Group dedicated to Powertrain.

Fiat Powertrain Technologies unifies all the innovation capabilities and expertise in the design, development, production and sales of engines and transmissions.

With its annual output of around 2.8 million engines and 2.1 million transmissions, FPT is one of the most significant players in the automotive sector on a worldwide basis.

Almost 3,000 highly skilled technicians are dedicated to the development and engineering of innovative technologies for new generation powertrains; their work is focused on the development of clean and efficient engines, with the aiming of the reduction of engine and vehicle emission and fuel consumption, anticipating the introduction of increasingly stringent emission legislation.

Thanks to an extremely wide range of products and applications, FPT can satisfy almost any powertrain request, ensuring performance, reliability and efficiency to its Customers.

FPT is going to establish a new R&D Centre in Jiading (Shanghai).

We are planning to select just graduates (Bachelor, Master Degree and Ph.D) with a specialization in:
 
Mechanical Engineering & Automation
 
Power & Energy Engineering
 
Internal Combustion Engine
 
Automobile Engine Technology
 
Automobile Electronic Technology
 
We require an excellent oral and written English, and the willing to travel for business purposes in China and abroad.
 
Our employees must be smart, open mind, internationality oriented, and wishful to learn and develop themselves in a technical path.
 
The knowledge and a passion for our products (engine and transmission) is the last important condition.
 
The selected people will be involved in a training in Italy for 3/6/9 months.
After that, they will be introduced in the structure (Design - Testing - Controls…).
 
Job Description
 
Job Title: Junior Engineer
Number of Positions: Several
Department: R&D Centre
Work Location：Jiading, Shanghai
 
Job Responsibilities: This job is ideal for fresh postgraduates and mainly focuses on technical filed, especially in Engine. After 3-6 months overseas training, you will be assigned to work as Design, Control, Test Engineer or Laboratory Technician according to the assessment.
 
What we expect from you:
 
Education:
 
Master Degree or PhD. in Engine Design, Internal Combustion Engine, Vehicle Engineering, Thermodynamic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or equivalent
 
Language:
 
Fluent English (Speaking and Writing)
 
Behavioral characteristics:
 
Bent for team working
Bent for continuous learning and improvement
Good and effective in communication
Practical minded and able to simplify things
Effective and time management oriented
Looking for excellence in performance
Open to integration with different cultures
 
 
Knowledge:
      
Analytical dimensioning of mechanical components
Basic Mechanical and vibrational analysis
CAD design (2D and 3D modeling)
Automotive engines and transmissions architecture and behaviors
Basic Thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
Knowledge and application of Simulation SW for structural, dynamic and fluid dynamics analysis will be title of preference
