Some people are born with great talents, but no champion could have achieved his goals without training. This is true in business and sports.
Within our 18-24 months program we will train you and make you ready to take over an interesting challenge at adidas afterwards. To achieve this goal we want to offer you a whole portfolio of development opportunities like job rotation, training, project work, out-of-office activities and an introduction week. This shall give you a complete picture of our business and a wide network within our company. After the program we will think together with you about how you can best continue your career at adidas.
During the Trainee Program we want to give you the opportunity to learn and to get to know our industry and our company, but also to find out what your strengths and weaknesses are and in which area you want to pursue your career. Through the rotation during the program you will not only get an insight into what different departments do, but also a feeling of what the right career path is for you in the future.
What if David Beckham or TMac had chosen a different sport only because they never tried football or basketball?
Training Plan
Rotation
During the 18-24 month program we want you to understand how our company works as a whole. Therefore we want to let you rotate between different departments to give you a view of our business from different angles. You will work for about 6 months in each station, so you will most likely go through three to four stations during your program and get the opportunity to build up a network throughout the whole organization.
Out-of-office activities
Our company is directed from our offices, but the real business happens outside: in our retail stores, in our factories and in our work with our customers. To make you really understand the whole business cycle you will also get the chance to work for a short period in one of our retail shops, to visit a factory and meet our customers together with our sales team. This will give you a complete picture of our business and also enable you to understand the interdependencies and interfaces between different departments.
Professional Training
Next to the on-the-job training in the different departments we will offer you a variety of classroom trainings that will help you to build up your skills and competencies and will enhance your job performance. Among these trainings will be skills trainings (e.g. presentation skills), PC trainings (e.g. Power Point) and soft skills training (e.g. cultural awareness).
Project Work
Next to daily work, the Trainee group will be assigned to complete a project which will last approximately 3-4 months to give them their first exposure to project management. They will be responsible for the entire project management including planning, analysis, development of an action plan and presentation of the results to Senior Managers.
Mentor
In your first job after university you will need more guidance than experienced colleagues do. Therefore we will provide you a Mentor from Middle or Senior Management that can help you to overcome all kinds of problems that might occur in your first job. Apart from that your Mentor will also help you to get an overview of the company and in building up a network.
Orientation Week
Teamwork is very important at adidas and we also want you to be a team as Trainees. To make you familiar with each other and also with the adidas world we will organize a special introduction week for you where you will get the chance to meet your new colleagues, listen to presentations, ask questions and get to know each other.
Supplementary Training Support
adidas encourages employees to acquire new skills and knowledge to improve the performance in their current positions and to prepare themselves for positions of greater responsibility. Therefore we support our employees in participating in job-related training programs with a reimbursement program (e.g. for language training).
Training Fields
We offer two kinds of Trainee Programs:
"Business Trainee" programs and "Functional Trainee" Programs. Both programs will last for 18-24 months and in both programs you will get the full package of development opportunities mentioned above. The difference is that the "Business Trainees" will rotate between functions, whereas the functional Trainees will rotate "within" a function. So for example a Business Trainee will rotate between Sales, Retail and Marketing during the program, and a Functional Trainee in Operations would for example rotate between Supply Chain, Logistics, Project Office and Customer Service.
In any case we try to provide all trainees a very broad overview of the company, so a Functional Trainee will also get an understanding of the processes and operations in the other departments.
You can apply for a maximum of two positions, so please choose carefully in which programs you are interested in most! The application deadline is Nov. 14th .
Business Trainee Program
No department is isolated from the rest of the group. For the whole company to be successful, all departments have to work together very closely to achieve the common goals. When you work together with colleagues from different functions it will be very beneficial to you to have an understanding of the roles that your colleagues play in the company and to know what their responsibilities and challenges are. Therefore we want to give you the opportunity in our Business Trainee Program to work in different departments and develop a sense for our whole business cycle.
Operations Trainee Program
We want to bring the adidas Group China operations to the next level of excellence, do you want to help us? In our Operations sub-functions Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Service, IT, Project Office and Production we want to make sure that all operations in the company run smoothly and the other departments can work effectively and efficiently develop our business.
Human Resources Trainee Program
Next to our brand, the most important asset of the company is our people. It is our job to build up and maintain a world-class workforce to continue our growth and further strengthen our position in the market. We try to attract and retain the best people and to develop them for greater responsibility in the future. As a Trainee you will get an insight into our operational HR work as well as the projects that we've created to further develop our employee's capabilities.
Finance Trainee Program
Our aim in Finance is to drive our excellent financial performance to support the goals of the adidas Group in China. We are dedicated to being an integral part of the decision-making process throughout all business areas and we want to proactively manage and optimize our financial flow and financial resources.
Product Marketing Trainee Program
You love sports. You like playing them and you like watching them and you are also familiar with the products on the market that people use when playing sports. You want to help us to build the range of products that will be sold in the shops by using your knowledge about sports and your insight about consumer needs and preferences.
