HSBC Global Resourcing Overview
HSBC Global Resourcing is an international function within HSBC and an integral part of the Managing for Growth strategy. In 2001, it consisted of 2 offices in Guangzhou, China, and Hyderabad, India, employing approximately 1,100 staff. At present, it represents a team of over 26,000 HSBC employees located in 13 Global Resourcing offices known as Group Service Centres (GSCs) across 5 countries in Asia. GSCs partner with other HSBC business areas to provide world-class customer service to our customers across the globe, thus contributing to the success of the HSBC Group.

As one of the world's largest banking and financial services organisations, the HSBC Group has a continuous presence in mainland China since opening in Shanghai in 1865. As part of the Group's strategic focus on economics of scale and centralisation, Global Resourcing has been an essential element of the business to increase productivity and manage cost effectively.
Who we are
HSBC Electronic Data Processing (Guangdong) Limited (HDPG) is the registered name for the three HSBC Group Service Centres (GSCs) in China . The first centre among the 13 GSCs in HSBC Global Resourcing commenced operations in 1996 to provide operational support to HSBC's offices around the world. Since then, HSBC GSCs China have experienced rapid growth. The second Group Service Centre in Guangzhou was set up as a result of business expansion at the end of 2004. The third Group Service Centre in China was established in Foshan in the third quarter of 2007. It is anticipated that we will expand continuously in the coming years.
Employees
Over 3,700 employees are currently working in HSBC GSCs China, based in our three Group Service Centres - Guangzhou Centre I (GZC), Guangzhou Centre II (GZT) and Foshan Centre (FSC). The number will increase to 4500 at the end of the year.
Customers
The clientele covers HSBC entities in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan and Area Office China.
Process Service Range
Since its establishment, HSBC GSCs China has gone through a process of radical changes, growing from a single functional unit to a wide array of support services round-the-clock now. Also, currently the operations include both simple data entry and more complicated processes such as approval of credit cards, authorisation of payments and customer contact centre established in 2002 .
The major process services include: Customer Care (Call Centre), Consumer Finance, Credit, Trade, Payments, Mortgage, Insurance and General Processing Support.
Management Trainee Programme (MTP)
Objective:
To meet the rapid growth of HSBC's Global Resourcing, there is a need to develop and strengthen a local management team with appropriate experience and expertise to support its increasingly complex functions. The MT programme is a structured development programme aimed at recruiting and grooming home grown talent to take up leadership positions.This programme targets at the fresh graduates with outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements from reputable universities in China and abroad .
The key objective of the Management Trainee Programme is to develop future leaders through practical experience and management skills training in the Operations aspects of our business. The 24-month programme involves a number of attachments to various core functional areas of the business. During attachments to the core functions, trainees will take an active role and be expected to contribute to the business as a full-time executive through actual job assignments.
Eligibility:
High potential graduates with limited or no previous work experience.Duration
The total duration of the MT programme will be for 24 months.
Course contents:
* Mentor Coaching
A senior member of the management team will act as mentor of the trainee throughout the programme.
* Capability Development
Attachments to different functions and internal training programmes for technical skills and management skills will form an integral part of this programme.
* In-house Training
Various in-house training courses will be arranged to equip management trainees with advanced leadership and management techniques.
Position: Management Trainee
If you hold a Bachelor/Master degree from a reputed University/Institution, irrespective of the stream that you have chosen, and if you possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Cantonese, you can join us as a Management Trainee.
We will deploy professional assessment tools to evaluate the suitability of the candidate to the programme.
